About Jenny
My love and deep connection to the living Earth began in my early childhood. I was always allowed to roam the east-coast shores of the Atlantic and freely explore the woods in my suburban neighborhood. I felt oneness with the world. As the Poet, Rumi states, "You are not a drop in the ocean; you are the entire ocean in a drop.” In my youth I knew this, I was connected to and part of all existence. As my career grew in the technology field and a computer screen became my primary view I would seek isolated natural locations as refuge to unplug and recharge, but my relationship with the natural world had shifted. It was no longer my home, rather it was a place to visit.
With the arrival of my children I read "The Last Child in The Woods", by Richard Louv and immediately knew it was imperative for my children to have a deep connection to the living Earth as I did in my youth, for their sake, and for the future of this life giving planet.
So it began, my new introduction to a connected life. Once again discovering the interdependence of all life, I dug into Buddhist Philosophy and developed a meditation practice that has supported me through difficult times. These experiences led me to pursue training as a guide to support others seeking to rekindle their relationship to the more than human world and discover the ease of mind that develops from a dedicated meditation practice.
I hold certifications as a Mindful Outdoor Guide through the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership, as a Health Coach and Personal Trainer through The American Council on Exercise. I am a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Meditation Teacher. I continue to advance my studies in Mindfulness and Meditation as a student in an intensive two year teacher training program under the tutelage of Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach and am pursuing additional training in Nutrition Coaching and as a Senior Fitness Coaching Specialist. Additionally, I hold certifications in Wilderness First Aid through the National Outdoor Leadership School, and CPR through the American Heart Association.
When I'm not guiding you can find me on my bike, indoors and out; in the garden and kitchen with my husband, growing and preparing delicious plant-based meals; exploring various art mediums with my daughter; and, oftentimes cozying up with my dog and a good book.
