Mindful Movement

There are many ways to enter into a state embodied awareness. A formal sitting practice “on the cushion” with many different methods of implementation has been passed down through the centuries as the base for developing a practice. However, it is not the only way to meditate. Any form of movement done with attentiveness can become a way to embody presence and mindfulness.   • No, there is no required position for meditation. It can be done sitting in a chair, standing, walking, engaging in any type of movement, or even laying down.

  • Dispite the Zen Saying “You should meditate 20 minutes a day unless your too busy then you should meditate for an hour” No, you do not need to dedicate a large amount of time. Your meditation practice can be as little a five minutes a day.

  • Stillness is not a requirement. There are many forms of Moving Meditation that may be right for you.
